SideBar
On this page I am going to give you some of my favorite resource links! Mind you since I created my blog and you go to the sidebars there this is a bit out of date!
Would you like to check out new books, authors etc.? Try Teaching books .
Vancouver School Board teachers all have a free membership!
There are many great links if you go to our local reading association, LOMCIRA's website and follow their resource links.
A very useful website is actually that of the authors of The Daily Five, so why not take a visit to The Sisters.
One thing I have really enjoyed since I started working out of the board, was discovering the joys of online reading, previewing books. One of my favorite places to do this has been Stenhouse Publishing's website where I have found many great books which I have been able to preview online. Stenhouse has a reciprical relationship with Pembroke in Canada but Stenhouse's website is quite amazing and I also enjoy their newsletter which I get regularly by e-mail and isn't just an advertisement.
I haven't really mentioned The International Reading Association which has many resources, great books, lesson plans galore. A subscription to The Reading Teacher is something that should be in every school (that's my opinion). I would be remiss not to mention The National Council of Teachers of English who has a great website and resources. One of my favorite journals is Voices from the Middle
